Is the person on OmeTV real?

Or just a looped video? We don’t search the video itself, but if they shared a photo, we’ll check whether that face appears elsewhere under another name.

Sound familiar?

  • The video that never quite reacts

    1. Message: Sorry, my mic is broken, just type.
    2. Message: Here’s my photo so you know I’m real.
    3. Why it’s a sign: A camera that loops, a mic that never works, and a photo sent as “proof”.
  • “Add me on Insta”

    1. Message: This app is so slow. Add me on Insta?
    2. Message: Or give me your number, it’s easier.
    3. Why it’s a sign: The move to another app comes fast, right after a photo you can check.
  • “I recorded you”

    1. Message: I recorded our call.
    2. Message: Pay, or I send it to your friends.
    3. Why it’s a sign: Don’t pay and don’t reply. What to do next is in the questions below.

Not from the camera, from the photo they shared.

We compare the photo they chose to share with public profiles on 20 platforms, closest first.

  1. Your photo

Use a photo they sent you or the profile picture of an account they gave you, cropped to one face.

  2. Our legwork

OmeTV isn’t one of our sources, so we look for that face on 20 public platforms outside it.

  3. Your call

Each possible match links to its public page with a similarity score. You compare; we never contact anyone.

Is the photo they shared really theirs?

We check whether the photo they shared comes from someone else’s public account or travels with a different name and story.

  • A profile picture copied from someone’s public account
  • The same face under a different name and story
  • An account they gave you whose photos belong to someone else
A similar face is a reason to look closer, not proof. And an empty list clears no one.

Found something?

  1. Compare the pages yourself
  2. Ask for a quick video call
  3. Don’t send money, codes or photos
  4. Block and report in the app

Red flags in the chat.

Anonymity is a feature

Keep your full name, workplace, city and socials to yourself, and skip, block and report any chat that pushes for more.

What happens on camera stays there.

Never record anyone without consent; check only an adult who’s fine with it, using a photo they sent you, and never anyone who might be under 18.

What you may search

Your own face, an adult who clearly consented, or someone you are legally authorised to investigate.

Prohibited uses

No minors or images you have no right to use, and never to stalk, harass, profile, or decide on jobs or housing.

Every search is logged. Accounts that break these rules are closed without refunds.

Questions, answered.

Do you search OmeTV?

No. OmeTV isn’t one of our sources, and we never search video chats. We look for the face in a photo they shared on public pages across 20 platforms.

Can I screenshot someone on camera and search it?

No. Capturing a stranger on camera without their consent breaks our rules, and in many places the law. Check only a photo they sent you or a profile they pointed you to.

How can I tell if the video is fake?

Watch for video that never reacts to what you say, lips out of sync, a camera that’s suddenly “broken” and a quick push to another app. Once they share a photo, you can check that too.

Someone recorded me and wants money. What now?

Don’t pay; paying rarely makes it stop. Stop replying, keep the messages and account names, and report them to the platform and the police. A friend you trust or a support line can help you through it.

How much does a search cost?

One coin is one search. Coin packs start at $1.99, and coins never expire. Searching often? Pro unlocks every result for $4.99 a week, $9.99 a month or $19.99 a year, billed in US dollars.

Switching apps? Pause here first.

Add the photo they shared; if it came from someone else’s public account, you’ll see it before you hand over your number.
